The old man downstairs and more.

The old man that lived downstairs is gone. We came back from our family reunion in Jackson Hole last Saturday and we haven't seen him since. We are starting to miss his Brooklyn accent, and his frequent hellos, even though his unfiltered cigarette smoke gave me headaches. It just doesn't seem right, he didn't even say goodbye. Oh well, farewell old man that used to live downstairs.

On another not so positive note, I might have tuberculosis. This week I got a TB skin test. Now, for those of you who aren't familiar with TB skin test, they put some liquid stuff right under your skin, it forms a bump, but it is supposed to go down. Then, your return in 48 hours, and if the bump is still fairly large you have TB. I went in to get my results, the lady felt my bump and said, "oh I don't know, this isn't right" and left the room. Gee, thanks for the reassurance. In the end they are almost positive I don't have it. But, I won't know for sure until I am old and my immune system starts shutting down. I guess I best live life to the fullest.

Lastly, look at my cute husband.

I captured this right before he fell asleep, seriously precious.

I hope everyone has a nice week. I am starting an internship at Madison Junior High in Rexburg, so I am sure I will have some wonderful stories to share soon!

The attack of the mosquito.

Okay. So, so much has happened since I last posted. The semester ended (thank goodness). We went on vacation. We planted an herb garden. Brandon and I both moved up in the workforce. We had some visitors. Really, it’s been crazy. But I am not going to talk about those things. Instead today is going to be about the mosquitoes.
Yes. The mosquitoes. Because these little nuisances have really been putting a damper on my quality of life.
Exhibit A.

First off, I did some research and Wikipedia said that these aren’t even mosquitoes. Instead they call them crane flies and claim they do not bite humans. Lies. Well, maybe not, but I don’t want to take any risks.
They have taken over our patio and our stairs and pretty much fly around like they own the place. Therefore, I am almost afraid to leave my apartment. Which is silly, I know. But thanks to my sister, I have this engrained belief that a bite from a mosquito will give me aids (thanks Tenille). Now is there truth to this? I don’t really know. It seemed logical to my 8 year-old-self.
So, I sit here staring out my window at these very disgusting creatures and find myself wishing for colder weather so they die. So, fall I wouldn’t mind if you came, as long as you kill the mosquitoes.
Ha, have a lovely day!

The simple things in life.

Have you heard of project life? If not, shame on you. It’s wonderful, really. Basically you take a picture every day and write a little caption about it. It’s super easy and actually pretty fun. I can’t wait until it’s done because it will basically tell the story of this year (I started it at the beginning of May…actually I got it when we got married a year ago but failed for the first year so thought I would give it another chance..). Anyways, I thought I would post some of my picture of the day's.
This is what the actual project life looks like. See it has little pockets for picture and comes with cute little note cards.

Diet desserts. Is there such a thing? There shouldn't be. But regardless we purchased some.

Our lovesac made an appearance in our living room Saturday night. And by appearance we mean take over. (See that large red binder that's on our entertainment center? That is actually our project life kit.)
Homework has taken over our kitchen table. Sad day.
Our idea of camping.

My average bed time every night. (I know it might not seem late to you, but trust me that is late.)

Anyways, as you can see it's a pretty fun project. You focus on the simple things in life, the every day and even seemingly mundane moments. But let's face it, it's those moments that make up life. Just one picture each day. Think about it.
Have a good Wednesday!

I'm back.

First off, is it lame that I put up a wedding picture, even though we've almost been married a year? I hope not because I like it, and it’s the only picture of summer that we have (since Idaho started its summer two days ago..)
Second, sorry about the absence. But, guess what, I have pictures! Just like I promised. I went to work at seven this morning and came back to a sparkling clean apartment. I have the best husband ever. So, since Brandon finished all of the dirty work I decided to take some pictures of our apartment! It’s nothing fancy, but it’s home. And I like it. Enjoy!
So, this is what you see right when you walk in..so it's like family room/kitchen.
This is a more accurate picture of our family room. See those colorful balls on our coffee table? I am proud to say I crafted them! A lot of projects came from being stuck inside since November.
This could be my most favorite part of our apartment. There's windows surrounding our eating area, so I get to watch our crazy neighbors while I'm eating breakfast.
Our slightly cramped kitchen.
The bar by our kitchen..also notice those balls on the candle sticks? Yet, another craft.
Now, if you were to turn around from that last picture you'd be facing our patio. Another favorite part of our apartment. Brandon and I have eaten out on it the last two nights..wonderful!
Our hallway..exciting I know.
This is our guest bathroom/Brandon's bathroom/laundry room.
Our  guest bedroom. Brandon humored me on this one..I practically crafted the whole room, starting with those wall hangings. I promise I have a life.
Okay, I know this is pretty much the same picture but I had so show you the night stand, another one of my creations. Also, the guest room has it's own alarm clock, (even though we don't get guests..) the first night I used it I am pretty sure it almost scared Brandon to death, therefore it got denoted to the guest room.
Finally the office. Boring, but useful.

As you probably noticed there is not a picture of Brandon and I's bathroom or bedroom, why you may ask? Well, those are the rooms I am supposed to clean. And I haven't done it yet. Don't judge.
So there it is, our apartment. I hope there is one thing everyone gathered from this post..we have a guest bathroom and a guest bedroom...and they never get used (hint hint).
Anyhow, have a wonderful Saturday!

A nice gesture.

So, sometimes I get these really bad headaches, like on the verge of migraine headaches. Well, this morning (around four) I got one of these delightful headaches. I was tossing and turning so I accidentally woke up Brandon. He asked me if I was okay. When I told him I was fine and that he should go back to bed he said, "okay I'll finish up with your customers then." I kind of laughed then said, okay thanks. Later on (around five) I told him about this and he said that he was serious and he would have even put the sale in my name. I just thought that was such a nice gesture. Thankfully my Excedrin Migraine kicked in...in two ways. My headache stopped but I think I fell asleep around 7:15, thanks to all of that lovely caffeine those things are loaded with.

On a side note, I am going to post apartment pictures soon. I just need to find a place to hide all my junk when I take the pictures :)

Have a great Tuesday!

True Love Tid-Bits: Take Two

I have this weird obsession with socks. Not just any socks but nice comfy, soft, fluffy ones. I believe I have this obsession because I have terrible circulation in my feet, they are always freezing. Well, sometimes I forget to put socks on before I go to bed, or just when I am wondering the house. Last night as we were going to bed Brandon noticed I didn't have socks on. He hurried and rushed to my sock drawer, pulled out a pair, and slipped them on my feet.

See, true love right there.

Have a great night.

True Love Tid-Bits

So, I decided to start a little February project. I wanted to recognize people’s love for  life, or people, or just love for whatever! Since I get to work in a place were I see a lot of different people, it has been an interesting project.
The other day at work I was helping an older lady. She was concentrating really hard and staring at two different loaves of bread. I asked her if she had any questions, she replied, “Well, I need to buy a loaf of bread…but I liked the pumpkin bread, and my husband likes the banana bread.” If any of you know Great Harvest, you know that our pumpkin bread is the best and our banana bread is just okay. Well, guess what. She chose the banana bread, because that’s what her husband likes. See, true love, right there.
Have a wonderful week!
